Kia Grand Carnival keeps Australian Open moving

January 2012

With the Australian Open in full swing, a fleet of Kia models - mostly Kia Grand Carnival models - are keeping the tournament moving, according to the chief executive of Tennis Australia.

Steve Wood remarked last week that Kia's courtesy fleet of 71 cars help things run smoothly during the tournament.

"It's a huge logistical exercise to move all our players, officials, media and staff around Melbourne during the event and it’s great to know we can rely on Kia’s support," he said.

Some 215 drivers will volunteer their time to make thousands of journeys with players during the 2012 tennis event - and Kia estimates that its fleet will clock up more than 400,000 km during the tournament.

Kia has been the provider of the Australian Open's courtesy fleet for 11 years, the manufacturer announced.

In addition to the Kia Grand Carnival, the fleet includes the all-new Kia Rio, as well as the Kia Optima and the Kia Sorento SUV.

The Kia Grand Carnival is billed as Australia's top-selling people mover and is a practical family car with plenty of style.

Best of all, the Kia Grand Carnival offers a host of state-of-the-art safety features - including electronic stability control and a traction control system, as well as six airbags - to keep your passengers safe on the roads.
